No Surprises Act

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.

Insurance and cost questions

Does Locascio Wellness take insurance for online therapy?

Yes. We are in-network with Aetna, Cigna, Highmark, Independence Blue Cross, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Geisinger, Optum, UnitedHealthcare and Medicare. Coverage depends on your plan and your state, so we check your benefits before your first session. We do not accept Medicaid. See insurance and fees.

What will I pay per session?

With insurance, your cost is the copay, coinsurance or deductible amount set by your plan. We verify that before you start so you know what to expect. If you are paying yourself, a first session is $190 and each 50-minute session after that is $160.

Can I use therapy without insurance?

Yes. Self-pay is $190 for a first session and $160 for each 50-minute session after that. If you are uninsured or choose not to use insurance, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before your care begins. Details are on our insurance and fees page.

How long is a therapy session?

Therapy sessions are 50 minutes. Your therapist will agree with you how often to meet, and you can book each session at a time that suits you from their online calendar.

What happens if I miss an appointment?

A $50 fee applies if you do not show up for a scheduled appointment. Insurance does not cover missed-appointment fees. If something comes up, let your therapist know as early as you can so the time can be offered to someone else.

Do you accept Medicaid?

No, we are not in-network with Medicaid at this time. If you have Medicaid, your plan's member services line or your state's crisis and referral line can help you find an in-network provider.
