About Bob
Bob Matthews is a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 20 years of experience working with adults, children, and families from various cultural backgrounds in many areas of the counseling field. He has a lot of experience helping people with various concerns including anxiety, mood disorders, substance use, gambling, family and relationship problems, as well as child custody and employment issues.
Bob’s primary therapeutic orientations and methods are Humanistic, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic and Family Systems. Bob’s primary modalities within Family Systems are Strategic and Structural.
He has extensive experience working with people in the substance use field including medication assisted treatment, and is in the process of obtaining certification for treating gambling disorders. Bob has many interests in the field of psychology and counseling, and is committed to continual learning and professional and personal growth.
Bob currently lives in Northeast Philadelphia with his wife Aksana, and has many hobbies including reading, music, sports and fitness, and is dedicated to daily running and weight training.
